Passed the GitHub Foundations certification exam today. I've been using Git and GitHub for years, but figured it was time to make it official and validate my understanding of the foundational concepts.

The exam covers the basics like repositories, commits, branching, markdown, and project management, but also dives into collaboration features and modern development workflows. Since I work with GitHub almost daily, most of the content was familiar, but it's always good to ensure you're following best practices and not missing any useful features.

GitHub Actions was probably the area where I learned the most during preparation - while I've used it before, the exam really covers the CI/CD pipeline aspects in detail.

Summary: Passing the GitHub Foundations certification exam validates subject matter expertise by measuring entry-level skills with GitHub basics like repositories, commits, branching, markdowns, and project management.

After a few weeks of preparation I've passed the AWS Devops Engineer Professional Exam.
I enjoyed most of the studying. There were just a couple of topics that
are a bit dry and harder to go through. Overall it was interesting and valuable
to dive deep into AWS services and tooling around DevOps. Quite obvious that
serverless technologies like Lambda or DynamoDB and AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild,
CodeDeploy and the like have a strong focus in the Exam.

Similar as for the Associate Exams, I used the Practice Exam and eBook from Tutorials Dojo
to study and prepare. For me that was all I needed, I found other courses too time consuming given that I already have a lot of AWS knowledge.

As always, studying for the exam helped me to get new architecture and integration ideas.
For example NeuVector by SUSE and AWS CodePipeline, stay tuned, I will share something soon ;)

Summary

Earners of this certification have an extensive understanding of implementing continuous delivery
systems and methodologies on the AWS Cloud. They demonstrated the ability to automate resilient
applications and infrastructure deployments using AWS services. Badge owners are able to enforce
policies, implement automated monitoring, and configure event management of an environment.
